Our high quality restorative treatments…

Our dental implant treatment is designed to provide a strong, stable and long lasting alternative for missing teeth. They can be used to replace a single missing tooth or a to replace multiple missing teeth. In fact, if you are missing all your natural teeth, implants can be placed to anchor and support a full arch prosthesis  to your upper and lower jaw. They are a highly successful approach to replacing missing teeth.

Removable dentures have been made by dentists and worn by patients for many years. They are designed to replace one or several missing teeth. You might consider a partial denture if the remaining natural teeth cannot support a fixed bridge or there is insufficient bone for implants.

Comprising of silica, quartz and fine glass particles blended to a paste-like consistency, a tooth coloured filling is used to restore the strength and health of a tooth, and is sculpted and polished to match your surrounding natural teeth for a beautiful, complete smile.

Designed to cover a single tooth in its entirety, a dental crown adds protection and strength to a tooth, which has undergone root canal therapy, has an existing extensive filling that has weakened the tooth, or has been badly damaged by extensive dental decay. They are the best insurance to prevent catastrophic fracture of the tooth which may lead to tooth extraction.

Why should I replace a missing tooth?

When you are missing a tooth, the space created allows the teeth either side and above this space to drift and tip into it. It is like taking a book off the bookshelf….the other books lean over into the gap. Unfortunately this type of tooth movement is random and uncontrolled and results in a disruption to an even, stable bite. It promotes loss of bone and gum tissue attachment to the tipped teeth and creates spaces that are just big enough to allow food to wedge between the teeth and cause gum pain or tooth decay. Chewing ability is decreased with less teeth and the remaining teeth are put under more stress and wear to maintain chewing function.

Obviously, loss of a front tooth is a situation that needs immediate attention to avoid embarrassment and lack of confidence.

With so many good technologies around today no one needs to put up with missing teeth, so speak with Dr. Chahoud and he will discuss all the relevant options and costs with you.
